Shipping

Shipping Prices:

Shipping costs will be determined at checkout in accordance to your shipping address. While domestic orders have included shipping in the past, effective 1/13/13, we will be adding a small fee to help counter rising postage and packaging fees.

All orders are shipped from our North Texas location. Shipping times vary depending on your proximity to us.Orders are only shipped on Monday - Saturday.

Domestic Orders

All domestic orders are shipped via the US Postal Service. All domestic in-stock orders ship within five business days of the order being placed, unless the item is a Pre Order item, in which case the item will be available at the specified date.

PayPal payments may take up to 10 days to clear and your order is placed once the transaction clears and transfers your information into our system. Estimated domestic delivery times based on US Postal Service First Class Mail shipping method:

    US Postal Service First Class Mail- 5 - 10 Business Days

  • Midwestern United States
    US Postal Service First Class Mail- 5 - 10 Business Days

  • Western United States
    US Postal Service First Class Mail- 5 - 10 Business Days

International Orders

International orders are shipped via the US Postal Service. All international in-stock orders ship within five business days of the order being placed. Depending on which country you live in, it can take up to 6 weeks for you to receive your order, generally most orders are received within 2-4 weeks. Pre Order items will not be shipped until the specified release date.

The cost of shipping depends on the location and the weight of the package. Prices differ depending on the country that you live in.

Some countries require the customer to pay a customs duty or tax when picking up their package. This is not the responsibility of Handmade Birds. Please do not ask to mark a package as "gift," as this is illegal.

Pre-Orders

Pre-orders will be shipped in accordance to the release date. Pre-Order release dates may be subject to change.
In the case where there is more than one pre-order placed on the same order -Due to the fact that there is only one shipping charge, multiple pre-orders, within the same invoice, will be shipped out simultaneously thereby possibly delaying the first pre-order.IF THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH A PRE ORDERED ITEM BEING DELAYED AT THE FACTORY, OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON, UPDATES ARE POSTED IN THE NEWS SECTION OF THE MAIN SITE. PLEASE CHECK FOR POSTED DELAYS IN THE NEWS SECTION BEFORE WRITING TO INQUIRE ABOUT A GIVEN ORDER.

APO/FPO

USPS is the only delivery service that delivers to APO/FPO addresses. At this time tracking numbers are unavailable for any packages delivered to APO/FPO addresses. We apologize for the inconvenience.

APO/FPOs are located all over the world so delivery times vary widely, depending on your location.

The Department of Defense has issued the following guidelines for addressing your mail to military and civilian personnel.

Use the service member’s full name. Mail must be addressed to someone specific.

Include the unit and APO/FPO (Air/Army Post Office or Fleet Post Office) address with the nine-digit ZIP Code™ (if one is assigned).

Include a return address.

For packages, print on one side only with the recipient’s address in the lower right portion

Return / Exchange

No returns or exchanges.

Incorrect Orders

If you received the wrong item you can send it back to us and we will replace it with the correct one. All items should be sent back using USPS First Class or Priority Mail, you will receive a refund for the shipping cost.

ANY PACKAGE RETURNED SHOULD BE SENT WITH A TRACKING NUMBER. HANDMADE BIRDS CANNOT NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR RETURNED OR EXCHANGED ITEMS UNLESS CUSTOMER HAS OBTAINED PROOF OF DELIVERY.

Can I buy your releases in retail stores?
Handmade Birds releases are distributed exclusively in North America by Thrill Jockey Records.

I typed in the wrong address/zip code,
how do I correct that?

Please email with your order # if you have typed an incorrect address. As long as your order has not shipped out, we can make that change for you.

When will my order ship?
Again, orders ship within 5 days of the order, unless it is a Pre Order item, which will ship within five days of the specified release date, which is subject to change.

How long does it take to process an order?
Orders can take up to five business days to process before they ship out (Sunday and Holidays are not considered business days).

The item I’m looking at is out of stock.
When is it going to be restocked?

Once an item is ordered for reprinting, it can take between 2-8 weeks (sometimes longer), for the item to be reprinted and restocked. If you want to know whether it’s been ordered for reprinting, email us. A majority of our releases are special, one-time limited runs and will not be available once original stock has sold out.

What shipping options do I have?
Anything less than 13 oz. can be shipped USPS First Class. Anything over 13 oz. can be shipped USPS Priority. All international orders are sent via USPS First Class International or USPS Priority International.

I did not receive an email confirmation
with my order #, why is this?

The confirmation email may have went to your spam/junk folder. If the email is not in your spam/junk folder the email address may have been typed incorrectly during checkout. PayPal will have a record of the transaction if it went through correctly.

I have an order that is time sensitive.
How do I make sure it arrives on time?

If you have an order that is time sensitive, please bring it to our attention immediately. We will do the best we can to get your package to its destination on time.

I ordered a pre-order item and it hasn’t arrived yet.
What’s the hold up?

Pre-Order release dates for music items may be subject to change.

I ordered more than one pre-order item…
when will my order ship out?

Your package will ship out when all pre-order items are available for shipping.

I ordered a pre-order item along with my other items. When will my order ship out?
Your order will ship out once the pre-order item is available. Please take note of the shipping date for your pre-order item during checkout.

I am ordering internationally.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Once the order has shipped out from our warehouse it can take between 2-6 weeks to arrive. Be sure to check with your local post office/customs on a regular basis (there is a chance they are holding onto it because you owe a duty or tax on the package). If you do not receive your package within 6 weeks, please email us.

Is there a way to track international orders?
We have no way of tracking international orders at this time. We do have your packages customs dispatch # available. If you need this, let us know.

Do you have a catalog available that you can send us?
We do not have a catalog for our store at this time. You can view all our products online at anytime!
